Diana Ciavarella, CMHC-LP, is the Intake Coordinator at Silver Lake. She conducts admission assessments for potential clients, coordinates with referral agencies, works closely with the staff clinical director and leads the intake team in the admission process. Aside from her role as the intake coordinator, Diana specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Group Therapy, Music Therapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy. She facilitates Silver Lake’s Music Therapy and Creative Writing groups. She has experience treating clients of all ages and backgrounds with dual diagnoses of substance abuse and mental illness. Diana also worked on behalf of Silver Lake Behavioral Health services at the Staten Island Care Center and Victory Internal Medicine.
Prior to joining Silver Lake, Diana worked for the Jamaica Bay Riding Academy as a therapeutic horseback-riding instructor, assisting clients with learning and developmental disabilities. Diana was born and raised in Brooklyn. She is a vegetarian, animal lover and advocate, and spends time with her rescue dog Sophia, who is also a Silver Lake therapy dog. Diana graduated from Wagner College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Special Education in 2014, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of Staten Island, CUNY.
